SWINDON rider Lee Tyack sealed the NG national road race Formula 400 championship title with a fifth-place finish in the final round at Thruxton.
He finished the season with 292 points, 23 clear of Tony Meredith in second place, to lift the title in only his third season in the sport.
Tyack went into the race 21 points clear, needing only a top-10 finish to clinch the title.
In qualification, he achieved a sixth place finish placing him on the second row of the grid.
And, having spent a number of laps in eighth position, Tyack managed to get back up to the leading group and sealed a fifth-place finish and, with it, the championship.
Speaking after the race he said: "To be able to say that the title is coming to Swindon for the first time is one of the proudest moments in my life.
"This year has been the culmination of a pre-season and indeed a season's worth of hard effort that has seen my fitness levels rocket and my weight plummet.
"The support I've had from local businesses has been extraordinary, and I would especially like to thank Steve Lynham Motorcycles and Dyno centre, for tyres and bike set up; Gary Vardy, for tuning the engines; Farley Customs, for spraying the bikes; and the Blunsdon House Hotel, for the membership and training regime."
